How is all started

Like any child, in the childhood, I liked animals very much. I was very glad to play with the neighbor's cat or food fish. In the market I have been looking at hamsters nibbling something very tasty or mice quietly rustling with their straw for hours. When the weather was bad I was sitting on the window-sill in my room and looking after the parrots which were living in the opposite house, very often I was going for a walk with one old lady who had a very nice red mongrel – Lusya, later on becoming the best friend of mine till the end of her dog's life. The short life of the animals suggested an idea to become a vet. I wanted to have my own dog very much. Nevertheless, to realize all these in one day was impossible. Vet course has been changed into the biological faculty at the university and my first dog appeared only in 1986. It was Alsatian dog with beautiful temper, working qualities and not bad pedigree. Dog's keeping was needed very serious approach. I have decided that the most important for us was sport. We lie emphasis on security service, general training course. Furthermore, we were passing exams and working with the great enthusiasm. This dog has been living with me for nine years. Another dog appeared not at once. Our living conditions have changed and did not allow keeping a big dog. After numerous reviews of encyclopedias and reference books was made a decision to buy Scotch terrier. I was very surprised when I found that there were many similarities between the big dog and this small, frisky one – excellent working qualities, high intellectual level, but the most important that this dog was always ready to be with you. For buying the dog I decided to turn to the Latvian Cynological Federation because particularly this organization unites all thoroughbred animal lovers. Unfortunately, in that moment there were no puppies of this kind but the organization gave me the telephone numbers of similar places in the Baltic States. We went to Vilnius and 23 March 1999 in our family appeared the first Scotch named Dina. It was very funny and inquisitive puppy but exactly this dog hinted about getting more information and skills in working with these lovely creatures. Now we are in the thick of things: I learn how to make show haircut for Scotch terriers, visit special classes about the rules how to present the dog on the show, of local and foreign specialists, study on cynologist courses and visit ring's worker course. Day by day I became more and more experienced and in 2005 the professional nursery of Scottish terriers "SCOTTISH MAGIC" was registered. Nowadays, the nursery with the great pleasure helps you to buy a puppy, gives a consultation about any question you are interested in, makes a haircut and helps to prepare the dog for the show but also presents your dog on the show.
